A mod that I think would be fun would be to have radar be line of sight (still 36o degree view, though). This would make it easier to do ambushes.
Or, as an alternative, a wall type that blocks radar.

There has already been discussion of doing something like this. Don't remember the exact outcome, but I think it was agreed that it would be acceptable.
