Of seeing some sort of surround sound support in the future?

I've got a pretty decent speaker setup and a nice audio card, and I'd just love to be able to make better use of them in BZFlag. Not to mention how it would be very nice to be able to better identify the location of an attacker by hearing where the shots are coming from.

bzflag does it's own 3d sournd. To do that would require using something that lets the hardware do it's own 3d sound. And it seems support for that on linux is "intersting".

Tho OpenCombat will have a replaced sound system that will take advantage of as much 3d sound as the OS will allow.
