worldsize/bots/player mods

Post by ducatiwannabe »

I think worldsize could be something other than square. So instead of a 100x100 you could make a 100x250 map like that. Rectangles and stuff.

bots are mostly for players to learn with, anybody with skill can beat them cause they dont jump. You could make bots as smart as autopilot, and maybe autopilot smarter.

For people that don't have the internet, you could to make missions for them. Multiplayer up to 8 players, and challenges, and time trials. So you have regular bzflag over the net, and missions and mods also.

just some ideas

I don't really like the first idea because I feel that a square world is the simplest design, and I like the simplicity of the game.

The second idea I agree with, and after asking dozens of times, I still don't see why they can't be made that way.

The third idea I strongly disagree with because if the game had nearly or the same amount of fun in solo mode as networking, it would take away the desire to play networking games, after all, a solo mode is more "organized": no lag, no cheating, etc.., but a networked game gives me my fix, I suppose it as well is out of the ordinary, there aren't nearly as many network games as there are solo games.

Just my opinions, nothing to take seriously.

First idea: I don't really see a point to it unless u can think of one

Second idea: yeah that would be pretty cool if they were smarter or they had like levels to choose from (eg. easy medium hard)

Third idea: i don't really think this game was made for missions :? i have no idea though

For the world-size-problem:
You can put huge/high boxes on the borders of the map in order to change the format. If you like a retangle, just put two big boxes on two sides of the map and you will have your desired form. No problem I think.

as in an oblong worldsize, or rectangular. that way grumbler, we could use gulch without having to make it 3 gulches.

why settle for a map with just 4 sides?

and in 1.12 your going to have a Lot more options with the mesh objects.

as for th bots, somonebody just has to get to coding them.

bzflag IS an internet game, I mean who dosn't have the net these days, and unless you have a net connection, you couldn't even get the game in the first place.

It's singleplayer prospects are NILL, it just dosn't have that much to do, the gameplay is minimal. The only challenge now is the players in. But just like anything else, you want it, you code it up.

that would be a very complicated map, I don't know what I think of 1.12 from what I've seen so far it's almost a completely different game from bzflag! but its ok.

yes it's florida:)

1.12 dosn't have difrent gameplay, it has more objects that's all. Everything behaves the same way, when run into or shoot a mesh object, it's just like when you hit the angled side of a pyramid.

It just looks difrent, that's all. and Looks ARE NOT gameplay. The gameplay for BZ is still very simple, drive, shoot, blow up. The tanks arn't gonna tilt or anything like that.

Don't fear change. Learn, grow, expand.

that map is really short actualy, just 4 cells.
