Another idea -
A duck fuction!
While I can see problems already, tune it to something like - assign it a key, and when you hit the key, your tank "ducks" for half a second, and half a second ONLY. While ducking, your tank does not move, nor can you shoot (or make it where you gotta time it perfectly to shoot while ducked and get burrowed enemies from afar) If you're moving while you duck, your tank stops immediately.
No moving/looking from left to right while ducked
No "rapid fire" ducking. Add a half second delay before you can duck again, perhaps
