Unstealth flag

Post by Trojan »

Hi all,

what about an unstealth flag? Lots of players (me inclusive) camp sometimes/often/allways when having ST - could be fun to have an unstealth flag. :D

What exactly do you mean about an unstealth flag?
Would it allow people who carry the flag to see all the tanks on radar including stealth tanks?

Thanks.

Oh no! A TROJAN has been let into the board! Ack! Isn't there any way to keep out this rabble?!?! LoL. Just kidding. :) Welcome to the board Trojan.

I think that the "Seer" flag did that, but what ever happened to it???

Hey widowmaker,

right - the tank with the unstealth flag can see stealthers on radar, too.

Spiff: The Seer flag and the other 5 flags added to 1.8 were, well, part of BZFlag 1.8, which has been discontinued.

I believe there are plans to reimplement them in the 1.7 branch, when protocol is broken.

The (semi)official definition of Seer was "See CL, ST, MQ [that's masquerade, one of the other new flags] as normal"

Ahh.. I thought so, but I wasn't sure. I remember someone saying that Tim was running One.bzflag.org with the new flags (before 1.8 was cancelled). Anyway.. I'll be glad to see the new flags in the next release! ;)

king.bzflag.org is still running 1.8, but I am unaware of anywhere you can download a working client for windows (CVS does not compile on Win, it might on linux). Besides, it is very buggy. Like you, I'd just as soon wait for the next protocol-breaking release.
