Change FOV

Post by Eldmannen »

Default FOV is 90.
In Quake you can bring down the console and change it to FOV 120 or 150 or so. It sucks, but it would be cool. :D

Add a "set displayFOV" line in your config file. And the default is 60, not 90.

Couldn't it be considered cheating to set it higher?
Optimism is just a milder alternative to denial.

BZFlag has it's roots in linux, and linux is very 'config file' centric. Many things are configured in the configuration file. Every release we move more into the in game menus, but they are becoming very very complex. Some things just arn't intended to be used as gameplay enhancments so they arn't in the menus. Or there just has not been that big of a call for them to be in the menu. The FOV setting is mostly intended to set the FOV correctly for multi display systems ( spaning over more then one display ) or for large display systems ( curved projector ). It is not a "sniper" zoom. For an in game fast zoom, you use the "binocular" function ( check your key mapings to see what it is set to ).

Again bzflag is not quake.
