VOIP in BZFlag

Post by Ice Wewe » Mon Oct 31, 2005 2:36 am

Title says it all.

VOIP in BZFlag, or using the VOIP protocal for chatting in BZFlag? Am I the only one that thinks that would rock my world? (except it'd need a built in bleeper  )

VOIP is a term usualy used for internet telephone.

you want a thing called "voice chat". Please try not to confuse people.

There are many 3rd party voice chat systems, the most popular seems to be team speak.

In game voice chat has been discussed but has many ramifications, like that bleeper you discussed, so for now it is best to see how people fare with the 3rd party apps.

not to mention the increase in bandwith costs.

The linux version seems to be distro independent.

haha if you want the details on the Teamspeak client go to the "general discussion" section of the forum and I have posted a review of it.

umm 1 that would use sooooo much server bandwidth not to mention your bandwidth ( just like jeff said )

I have seen this suggested many times before and every time it gets rejected (at least what I have seen )

I think it would be a cool feature but can you image the speed of the server line needed to run even low quality voip ? it would be unreal espicallly for a popualr server like silvercat

maybe if it ever is intoduced in the near future it could be a option that is chosen by the server option or maybe make it admin channel option 8) and for that we come back to 3rd party stuff :lol-old:
