better polling procedures

Post by holy shirt »

Currently, when a poll started to kick someone, for example, nobody votes. 90% of the players could be registered, and still, no votes. So to facilitate voting, and to make sure that every poll is dealt with fairly, why not make a "no vote" count as an automatic "no" on the poll. This way, is you want vote "no" on the poll, you dont have to type "/vote no", you simply do nothing, and the polling system will assume that if you dont vote, that means you vote "no". And if you wish to vote yes, then you vote "yes". Great idea, no?

Aslo, i am sick and tired of seing polls pass becuase two players voted yes, and one player voted no, when there are a total of 10+ registered players!. This automatic "no" system will make sure that, for a poll to pass, more than half of the registed players voted yes.

Huh?

In any condition 50% of people MUST vote yes, it isn't based on the "no" votes...

In the end,, when the poll is completed when:

a) run out of time (no)

b) over 50% of people have voted yes.

To paraphrase Win XP... basically not voting is the same as '/vote no' in BZFlag already.

The % of the polls should be based on only the people that DID vote.

Err... a long time ago I got poll banned on lasermania because one guy thought I was flag passing (when in reality he didn't know that when you are on a slant the flag will go back to base if you drop it)

I played an online game that force me to vote after each round, if there was a poll going on. that would be better.

And there was an "i don't care"

I believe that to be the best for players that don't vote. Also poll banning should not be available. only short bans I think.

Poll bans are "shortbans" but "shortbans" are defined by the server owner.

TD: yeah

me1: Shouldn't it tell me when I'm unbanned if it's for a time limit? if it's forever it doesn't tell me... (at least I think) and it didn't tell me...
(the only times I've ever been banned on a server that wasn't my own it never told me how long I was banned for)
