The Compound

Post by meeba »

Hey, whatever happened to the Compound server that L4m3r made? I see it's not up anymore.

Is there any chance we'd be able to see it again?

IIRC, the map, server mods/plugins, etc were never "Released" so the only one with the files and permission to host it would be L4m3r himself.
Perhaps he will do just this when he sees there is some demand for it. :)

Yeah, I remember he never put those things out for us. He said on IRC that he'd get it up unless the blue glow under his desk bothered his roommates. :lol-old:

It's on and off- sorry guys, I can't seem to keep bzfs running for more than a few minutes. This is quite frustrating.

I'll make an official announcement when I successfully troubleshoot the problem.

It's not the same problem, or it's not on and off?

I believe we are experiencing the same problem. Both of our servers aren't using any third-party non-official plugins and the server doesn't segfault. It just crashes... and very often...

No, I use a couple of home-grown plug-ins, and the crash appears to relate to the loading time of one of them. Loading the plugin after starting the server (as opposed to loading it in the conf) thus far seems to solve the problem, for me anyway. my guess is that the plug-in gets some garbage values when it's loaded too early, and this leads to a crash later.

The server is live as of the time I'm writing this post. Please play for me to see if the server crashes or not. ;)
