Jittery Jerking motion

Post by BeanCounter »

I play BZFlag on the online servers with two desktop PC computers through my wireless home network.

One is an XP and one is Vista.

The Vista machine has a jittery or jerky motion. I can see the tank jerking from my XP machine but can't figure out how to make the Vista machine run more smoothly. Other players have commented about the jittering as well.

Can you suggest a fix?

Close applications, pause/stop downloads, change the graphics settings to get maximum frame rate.
You can press "T" in-game to see you FPS, it's just above the mouse box.

I have no other applications open and nothing downloading...

When you say to adjust the graphics settings, is that something I do in the BZFlag software or is it a setting on my PC?

Check what frame rate (FPS) you are getting on the Vista machine. That will give us an idea of how to proceed.

My frame rate runs between 58 and 60 on the Vista machine.
