Unable to get started on planet-mofo

Post by wildonez »

While I am logged in, there are a series of "local-denial: <path to a local png file>"
Anyone know what is wrong?

You are going to have to edit your "DownloadAccess.txt" file and add the line:

Code: Select all

allow images.planet-mofo.com
Info blatantly stolen from http://wiki.bzflag.org/Content_Restrictions
The location of the file depends on the operating system that the client is installed on:
Windows: OSDRIVE:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\BZFlag\2.4\DownloadAccess.txt
OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/BZFlag/DownloadAccess.txt
Linux: ~/.bzf/DownloadAccess.txt

Default Contents
By default the file for 2.4 contains:

Code: Select all

allow *.bzflag.org
deny *
Modification
The file can be edited in a normal text editor, such as Notepad or TextEdit.
If the user would like to add additional sites to the allowed list they can simply add a new line before the deny section as follows

Code: Select all

allow url.to.the.site.com
If the user would like to allow all sites they can simply add a wildcard instead of a site name and remove the deny section.

Code: Select all

allow *
Another option to allow all servers is to delete the contents of the file and make it empty.
The only thing I will add is that after you make any changes to your file, make sure you SAVE IT before closing out your editor. Made that mistake before. Make sure you restart your bzflag client afterwards also for good measure. If you still are experiencing issues resolving images, then from your bzflag client, go to Options --> Cache Settings --> Update Downloads and that should do the trick.
...This has been a recording.

enabling the images starts the game? I never knew that.

Really, we need more info...I mean if you are logged in as you say in your first post but then the last post you say "Still does not start the game."...

The way you start the game is press I or your by using a mouse button.

If you're caught in a hostban, it might sit at the "Right click or press I to start" screen. You'd have to contact the admins/owner for help.
