BZFS stopped working; Doesn't get on list

Post by 1veedo »

Every now and then my router craps out and stops looking up hostnames. The Internet works you just have to know IPs off the top of your head.

Anyway, the other day this came up.

Code: Select all

Queuing ADD message to list server
Player [0] accept() from 69.28.129.166:41497 on 6

...
I reset the roughter, then

Code: Select all

Queuing ADD message to list server
Queuing ADD message to list server
Queuing ADD message to list server
Queuing ADD message to list server
Queuing ADD message to list server
Shutting down server: uptime 6 days, 3 hours, 2 mins, 41 secs
Queuing REMOVE message to list server
I shut it down. Normally it fixes itself and starts working again but after this it's just stopped working completely. It'll start fine but you dont see the normal "Player [0] accept() from 200.61.35.7:37163 on 6" -- whatever.

Code: Select all

...
MD5 generation: 0.000 seconds
CURLOPT_URL is : http://my.BZFlag.org/db/
Queuing ADD message to list server
Shutting down server: uptime 4 mins, 33 secs
Queuing REMOVE message to list server
And it just stops there; nothing else happens. No idea what's wrong.

Well, if your router isn't resolving hostnames (which could also be a DNS problem btw) then it's got to be your router! I'd try everything from using a different router to connecting your computer straight to the internet. I don't think this is a problem that can be fixed by patching BZFS.

Yeah, probably. Normally it fixes itself though, with a restart, so I thought something might be wrong. I wonder if there's a way for this computer to be a sort of router.

Just two seconds ago I saw this, so I guess it kind of works. Except that it seems to have stoped, again.

Code: Select all

Routers are extreamly annoying. I got fed up with it blocking ports one day and told it to foward everything here

I might make it connect to the list server via IP instead of hostname, which should work... or I'll try getting a new router. But it should be working fine, at this very instant. Hostnames work fine. The Internet works fine. But for some reaosn it doesn't.

Oh, and another thign that doesn't work anymore. People don't identify. No "global login approved!"

I am connected directally to the Internet and it still doesn't work.

Not on the list server.
Cant globally register

I can connect to it perfectally fine at 1veedo.homelinux.com:5155. Yet it kicks me if I'm logging in as 1veedo cause, "This callsign is registered."

Code: Select all

Any idea why it doesn't work?
