Absolute Path for Server Co...

Post by The Guardian »

Hi.

For a public server, does the server conf and map file path have to be absolute?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Uh, no. It doesn't make a difference. I've run public servers with relative paths on my windows box.

in the conf, it depends on what the txt file is. in cmd, you need to put the exact adess of the bzflag folder. if im not answering what you asked, tell

uhhh, like if you were doing a report fie, instead of putting the whole path, you can just put "report.txt" as long as the file is in the same place as the conf.

here's some info...

I use -world Test.bzw

Just CD into the directory where Test.bzw is... relative paths use your current CD and go into the end.

(example)
cd /Users/BinarySpike/maps/
bzfs -world SomeMap.bzw

turns into:
bzfs -world /Users/BinarySpike/maps/SomeMap.bzw

Not sure if this holds true for windoze, but in Linux, a report file (or passdb, userdb) will appear in the specified directory if it doesn't exist already.
