Texture Download Timeout

Using Darwin v2.0.2 on Mac OS 10.4.2 on an airport network.

Whenever I connect to a server which has textures I get "failure: operation_timeouted".

Thoughts?

Make sure your DownloadAccess.txt file is configure properly. It is located in

Code: Select all

/Users/myUserName/Library/Application Support/BZFlag
Add this to the end of the file:

ye, it does that to me too.....

even if you add the "allow *" it dosn't work.....

download the 2.0.3 beta. it's way cooler, and it downloads the textres properly.

So Spazzy McGee's comment seems to confirm my suspicion that it's a bug in the code (or at least in the Mac 2.0.2 build).

Incidentally I did have the "allow *" in my access file.


Can anyone answer the question, can it be stored on a local server for a local-only game, or must it be on a web server?

All I know is that textures are made for server-side. The map file usually points to an http location (on the internet). Only thinng I can recommend is to downlaod CVS.

it must be a web server, the game will not send textures over the in game link.
