I always hated playing on my laptop (wide screen format). I could never figure out why, BZFlag supports the wide screen resolution just fine and nothing was stretched or anything. But it seemed that I could never see things hit me, and I found out why. See the attached screenshot. Something is wrong with the FOV. With the wide-screen view, it should have shortened the vertical FOV or lengthened the horizonal FOV, but instead both have been shortened. In the screenshot, look at the FOV lines on the radar.

Hmmm...that's strange, very strange actually I'd hate playing like that. I think the game maybe to big for it to handle. Have you tried putting on binoculars because that might bring it down.
