(UNKNOWN) SPAM

Post by person1 »

on missile war there was a large number of vulgar spam messages.

They displayed as follows:
SPAM SPAM SPAM 1
SPAM SPAM SPAM 2
SPAM SPAM SPAM 3
They were received in rapid succession. The later messages got up past 160,000 before I left.

etc...the later messages included racial slurs and the f-word

Is this something like random messages that server does not know who they are from so simply prints them as opposed to ignoring them?

Just thought I'd let you know

There has been an exploit involving sending bzfs messages from a partially-completed connection for quite some time. It has been fixed in cvs. If it continues to be a problem there is potential for a 2.0.10 release to encourage server owners to upgrade.
