Collaborator 2018 - Bring Back A Classic Project

Hi all,

It has been years since the last one and I believe now it is an excellent time to bring back a classic project.
The original started with 4 map makers creating a single map, which has different map making styles and ended up being amazing to play on as each was able to build and design at will, but when put together, it created something amazing.

I propose that we bring it back for 2018, as there is many new people and some old ones which hang around. :D

For 2.4.x I don't think we'll want to be limited to 4 members only, so if more than four people want to take part, or if you want to make more than one section, we can make it as big or small as we like. The style of map making does not matter too, so if you like 1.0 objects or only use Blender to make a map it's fine.(Please post if you are interested!)

Remember, new map makers are as welcomed as old ones. :wink:

Some quick notes for map makers out there:
It's going to be a FFA world, so don't add bases to your files.(A meshbox/mesh textured to look like a base is fine though.)

I forgot to mention that also script/program generated maps are welcomed too.

I'm also recommending that people place their callsign in material and physics name.

This will help with putting the pieces together and will help avoid a naming conflict in texture/physics names.

Some other notes/suggestions/tips.

I'm sort of thinking of having a theme for this Collaborator.
Memories can be the theme.
Memories from BZFlag and maps we visited or people we met.
To basically take an aspect of memories which we've enjoyed and to build on it.

Forgot to make one section a bit more complete, but please add your name/callsign to materials, groups, physics, texmats, dyncols and teleporters.
This way it won't be confusing to put together. :)

The option to allow climbing on sloped surfaces will be enabled too.
Bots will be disabled from joining too.

Shot amounts, it will be around 3-5 shots. (Still being decided.)

I guess you're right and maybe sticking to the tradition might be best.(no generated maps)

The main configurations from the original Collaborator appear to be default, although ricochet, jump and 3 shots are added.
There also was some spacing too, so it could be possible to jump from one section to the next.
