Re: Map making
Some map editor programs only run on a certain OS, so you would need to tell your OS.Flaming Tiger wrote:I want to make a map but i can not figure out how. Could someone please tell me a program
Some map editors and a description of map making methods:

Google is your friend. Why don't you read through this, it answers your question.

We need to know which operating system you use so we can suggest a program to assist you in map making.
I'm going to take a guess, and say that you are using Windows. This means that you will probably want to start out with BZEdit.

ok this is how you go
With mac: current map maker-ibzedit
with others like dell and linux and stuff a popular one is- bzedit or pybzedit(might b same thing i dont have those computers) but there are many others that you would need to find
other ways of mapmaking is by editing by hand. using textedit and the other text things
to find more ways to make maps go to MAP EDITORS forums and WIKI/map making and so on

The ground texture is a "Magic Material" found here http://my.bzflag.org/w/Material
Unlike other materials, once you specify a Magic Material, you don't need to use matref in an object. Just make a material with "name GroundMaterial" and your ground will change.

Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.
Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.
