When posting a map and viewing a map (screenshots)

Post by ducatiwannabe »

Now, just some thoughts.

When you post your map generally people ask for screenshots. Often these are not posted, people whine, and you end up having to post them anyway or lose about half the crowd :D

So, for those who DO post their screenshots, please post them as a JPEG/JPG. It really annoys people (I think) to have to wait a looong time for a .png to finish downloading. The smaller the size the better. If the map screenshots loads in a *bang* then it makes people happier than waiting a few minutes to download a .png.

Also, if the map can be opened in BZEdit, and you have bzedit, don't ask for screenshots. Just download it in BZEdit and open it. :)

Just a few thoughts.

I fthe picture is big, post a thumbnail.

I never make stupid mistakes. Only very, very clever ones.
It is not the fall that kills you. It's the sudden stop at the end.
Always remember you are unique. Just like everybody else.

Me personally, I prefer a big picture with a thumbnail (I hate small screenies, even though I have a 56k dialup.). That way I have a choice as to what to look at. It's why I use Imageshack, they give you this nifty code string you just copy and paste in the body of your message. Presto! Instant linked thumbnail.
