Custom Tank

I went into program files, and added the electric tank images. Its name is electricB_blue.png (I also added other textures like the blue base is electricB_basetop.png and all the other blue settings) Then I went to the config and changed blueTeamPrefix from blue_ to electricB_ all the textures load (Base, shots, supper bullet, laser) Exept the blue tank. All the blue tanks become white. Why do all the other textures work, but the tank does not?

You messed something up, a name, a capitalization, didn't put the image in the right place...something.
Perhaps you edited the image in an editor and didn't save it in the correct format.
It's also possible that your computer won't process the image correctly.

It's saved as a png, the same as all other textures, and it is in the same folder as the default? I'm pretty sure my computer can process them properly.

If you're still using the default name for tank textures (which is defined in the config separately from the team prefix), then the file should be named "electricB_tank.png", not "electricB_blue.png".

Ohh, so it has to end with _tank I will try that, and see if it works.

Thanks, it worked. I'm happy to say now I've proved Scythio and joevano wrong.

I couldn't agree more. The digital green and rogue look mighty fine as well.

Personally, I prefer Winny's textures as mentioned in this post: http://my.bzflag.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=13254

Those textures don't tile very well, I take it?

me1: I was referring to Mark_IV's textures.

Mark_IV: what I meant was that when your texture repeats, you can see the seams very clearly in both of the screenshots you posted. Textures that are meant to repeat should generally be constructed so that when you line up two of them in a row in any direction (top, bottom, left, right), you cannot clearly see where one texture ends and the other begins. The current bzflag tank texture (and other textures such as the grass, wall, pyramid, etc.) are all like this... that is why you do not see the outline of a square all over the place.

A google search for "how to make tileable textures" should give you more useful information.

You didn't prove me wrong... I said you were doing it the HARD way. The easy way is to just replace the existing images (after copying them off of course).

This is what I did a couple months back.
