Silly new feature: in experimental mode, your tank
is rendered as a model when you zoom in tightly.
The radar tank treads move, the tank cloaks, resizes,
and does everything else that you'd normally see
with your current settings.
(this screenie also shows a bit of the fast radar mode)

Very cool, and I like the rocks, too.

nice, suggestion: mabye you could put a red line around the tank where it would count if a bullet hits it, and mabye even the "non-graphics-existance" line on the bullets too.

Scorch, radar is basically useless by the
time you're zoomed in far enough to see
the tank model instead of a square (and
I'm not quite getting your second point.)
This is simply a frivolous visual effect.

ok yeah i get it

whats with the blue + before your name trep?
Posted: Mon Jan 03, 2005 11:24 pm
That indicates that he's been verified by the list server - e.g. that the person in the screenshot is the same trepan that posts here (or at least knows his password). There's also @, which marks admins, and -, which indicates that the user is known but unverified - like if trepan tried to play as me, but doesn't know my password.

Wow thats cool... I'm more interested in the rocks than the radar
Posted: Mon Jan 03, 2005 11:56 pm
Im more interested in the + - @ feature, nice one.

Any closer Trepan, and we'd be able to see you through the top hatch.

Will there be signs to indicate cops? I really love how 2.0 is being laid out. It's very nice, congradulations to the developers.

Yeah, sort of coming off of memnarch's idea, could cops be included as a default group in the next version as well as admins, default, registered?

This didn't seem to work with me. I only had + although I was an admin.

what is a cop?
Posted: Tue Jan 04, 2005 9:05 pm
wow, doesn't know what a cop is...
its an additional set of perms that a lot of servers use, mine has;
COP:KICK BAN BANLIST UNBAN INFO PLAYERLIST ADMINMESSAGES VETO
Posted: Tue Jan 04, 2005 9:34 pm
A cop is just set by servers, its not on all servers though.. some servers use group names like 'player-admin'.
Posted: Tue Jan 04, 2005 10:53 pm
But if they do make cop a default group with it's own symbol, I bet Cop would be the standard, instead of player-admin.
Posted: Wed Jan 05, 2005 12:38 am
the concept of "cop" is not ingraned into the software. All it knows about is "default", "Admin", and "registered". Every server does it's own cop system, some with more then one level of "cop" accesss. This is why it was not put into the server when I did the inital group implementation. The symbols come from the master list groups. and the only ones that can be consistnt are the ones the software knows by default. Putting a cop group in by default would limit how people could would use the permision groups.
or just make a patch and submit it.

Weeell. I don't know about programing past the extent of what it is....so I wouldn't be able to make a patch. Sooo, I'll just stick with whatever is there.

i like the rocks and new features
Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 3:11 am
The rocks aren't preset objects, they're object meshes with the rock wall texture.
Felt like I had to clarify that.

so is there literally a zoom in option for radar in 2.0. as in hold down + or - and it will gradually get closer or farther? or am i just lost
Posted: Tue Jan 11, 2005 5:26 pm
Yeah there is, 4 + 5 zoom in and out.

I predicted you would say that the very first time I played on that map...
