HighER FPS

Post by a monkey »

Feast your eyes upon this screenshot of...

429 FPS! Taken on a Ducati-style server. If you'll notice, there are clouds in the sky in the background, which means I would have had to have had blending and texturing on, as well as either high or experimental quality (in this case, high). And 429 FPS on top of it. Beat that! My hardware consists of a 1.25 GHz G4 processor, 1 GB DDR SDRAM, and an ATI Radeon 9200. All running on Mac OS 10.4.

(Edit: used to be a screenshot of 188 fps, now with updated CVS I'm getting up to 429)

umm with the new graphic enhancments, that is not that uncommion, even on low end hardware like that ( that's ether a mini or an ibook ). Specialy on simple maps.

Go Try Trepans 8million triangle server, on that I can hold 135fps on my PC :)

it's not like you get any advantage out of that fps tho, it is over your screen update/refresh time, so it's pointless.

Ok JeffM. 188 is normal, with the new improvements in CVS. But that screenshot was taken before the graphics enhancements were made.
