This is a screenie of about three different fog implementations at once... I'll tell more when I release a map.

Because (as for as I know) you can set the color. Almost like a "only radar" server instead of the other way around, because it's harder to see out the window.Soraya wrote:o....k.... why isn't it white? it doesn't look like fog....

_fogDensity is a funky variable. Setting it to 0.0009 is about as thick as it needs to be. Anything much thinker than that and you might as well have the Blindness flag.
What puzles me is the _fogColor default setting. Could someone tell me what it is? Everytime I go playing with the color of the fog, I can't manually set the fog back - I have to do /set _fogColor reset
I saw the default setting being something like 0.25 0.25 0.25 (thats three different numeric values in one line) It ain't gray, at least, it aint the color it gives you when you set it to grey. (yes, I tried both settings)
Nice fog settings I found are
_fogDensity 0.0002
_fogColor orange - this give the place a golden aura
_fogDensity 0.0001
_fogColor lightblue - reminds me of an early morning, the sun WOULD be shineing if it weren't so damn foggy - fog

Plus, a rather complex combination of three aperiodically interacting textures flowing on the ground, and a series of semi-transparent fog cylinders around the outside edge of the world.
To get that freaky, scary look, I found all three to be necessary, and yes, it is quite dark... you can see about a third of the way across the map, but beyond that, you just see bullets flying out of the blackness. Utterly uber-cool with the radar off.
The map I have in that screenie is Mofo, and my humble opinion is that the ultimate application would be 3-shot rabbit mode.
This is part of a Halloween map mod I'm creating... I'm not sharing yet, but what you see is just a sneak presneak. Think lightning, lava, big green moon, ghosts popping up and trolling around, etc.
