Ok. I realize you are new, but please try to use proper English (spelling and phrasing) and punctuation when posting. You live in the US and it is the language we speak after all. There are many foreigners here and it can be difficult for them to understand what you are trying to say. Heck, it's difficult for me (probably my age).

I was unaware that Hide and Seek hills was in Africa, hmmm. After a quick check of the list, the two Hide and Seek hills that are currently there, are located in the US and Germany. Which is a relatively common arrangement, one US server and a German counterpart.

Generally you have to do some work to figure out where a server is at, usually by their IP address. You would have to look up where it is, there are many websites for doing this. A good rule of thumb, if you are in the US and have a decent connection, is that if your lag is >= 200ms then the server is overseas, if it is <200 the server is in the US or Canada. As I said that is a good rule of thumb. Other than that where the server is, is irrelevant, there are probably servers on every continent except Antartica. And there may even be one there from time to time, who knows.

Yes, tadd's server, where I run Missile War off of, is located in Seattle, Washington, on the western coast of the USA. I believe it's located in a hotel basement.

Also, most of the time you can determine the IP of a server by opening a command prompt, and pinging it. For example: "ping lodxcol.bzflag.org". That will come up with a list of pings sent to the server, along with it's IP address.
Once you've got that you can use an IP locating website.


Or better yet, get the IP from http://bzstats.strayer.de/servers/ like brad said
