I got a mouse with 5 buttons, but you will not BELIEVE the lag on it! It takes over a second for something to happen. I have a joystick, I may use that.

Sounds like you need to buy a mouse that isn't broken.

Razer DeathAdder (when playing the Windows version, since there isn't a Mac driver; otherwise, a Razer Pro or Razer Diamondback).

It is a great mouse. It is very comfortable and fast.

Microsoft also sells a version of the DeathAdder with some different features, IIRC.

1) if it's a mac, then it's not cheap.
2) if it only has one button, how can it be the "left" one, when there is no "right" one to compare it to.

I think your thinking of the Mac Mighty Moues. It looks like it only has one button, but in System Prefrences on your mac, go to Keyboard and Mouse, and you can make it so the right side of the little trackwheel is right click

I use a Wired Logitech Trackman Wheel.
The shape fits your hand and the trackball is somewhat easier to use than a mouse.

Includes
scroll wheel (also acts as middle button)
left button
right button

I use a mighty mouse, because I'm stuck with a Mac.

I'm looking into buying a nice one with the money I wish I had.

But the Mighty Mouse looks so cool, and I don't want to buy a dedicated BZ mouse...

I also use a Logitech, although my mouse is so worn-out I can't tell its actual type or version or whatever. I have a left- and right-click, a scroll wheel, and some button in between that I have no idea what it does. :?

I use a standard COMPAQ mouse that came with my computer, but I used to have a nice Microsoft one, but then my little (I say 'little' 'cause he's younger, but not 'little' in literal terms) brother broke one of the buttons off, so I'm stuck with a pretty bad mouse and no mouse pad. Argh. :(

I must say I always thought keyboard was way more practical for playing bzflag. Maybe it's because I'm using a laptop. So no mouse for me...

I agree, whodaman. I don't use my mouse all that much, except on a few maps whose names escape me. I haven't actually been playing all that much. . . but I am starting to feel the call. . . must play. . . no! Aggghhh! I. . . have. . .to. . . finish. . . typ. .i. .n. .g . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

When I really need to move in fine shades, I use Mickeysoft's Basic Optical Mouse.

Most of the time, however, I use the one with 114 keys.

When i first started playing, i used to use the keyboard. I eventually switched over to the mouse because i felt it gave me more control.

I use a really, really old Logitech cordless mouse. It often malfunctions, but I still like it more than corded mice. For some reason, the cord always caught on stuff and made it hard for the mouse to stay still.

Microsoft "IME 3.0" on a SteelSeries QcK mousepad...

I used to play counter-strike competitively, so it's just leftover from that. It works well enough for bzflag, though!
