If you only get 5FPS on Windows, you probably need a new driver.

Why on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick the F5 for screenshots doesn't work? Or, if work, where the screenshots will be saved? On -> My BZFlag files -> screenshots?...I think no, because there aren't the photo make with Ubuntu, but only the photo make with Windozz xp.
Thank for your time :D

You can also see where the screenshot is saved using the chat console

Fox in the Fog, if you are interested in players' OSs you can just go to some popular server and type \clientquery .This will give you not only OS information but also bzflag version. However on MW2.3 \clientquery is not allowed for ordinary players.

My OS is usually the latest stable Ubuntu (now 10.10).

I use Windows XP, works like a charm. I can play with all effects on and all graphics on high without any lag what so ever.

That has nothing to with your OS and everything to do with your hardware.

I don't completely agree with that. If the drivers suck on a specific platform, you're screwed even if you have good hardware.

True, but in his case... it has everything to do with hardware. Good drivers can make mediocre hardware perform better, but not great.

Linux gentoo-local 2.6.34-gentoo-r12 #1 SMP Sun Oct 24 21:31:54 EDT 2010 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

But I can't play BZFlag yet because the open-source ATI drivers don't support hardware acceleration for my graphics card yet. I have an Evergreen card. ATI/AMD's catalyst binary drivers just crash.

Well, a lot of 3D acceleration is finished. I just have to wait for it to become stable and available through portage.

I use Arch Linux for work and, of course, entertainment. Simple, fast, flexible -- it has all I need.

I'm playing on an old PPC Mac (G3) - with OS 10.4.11
I have a machine waiting to be resurrected [a G4 MacBook] on the same OS that will run the game at decent specs.

Maybe when I have a bit of cash I'll be able to get a reasonably new machine and stick Kubuntu onto it!
