What's your definition of a good player? Someone who's got real skills, what you think is good and what you think is bad.
2 things
1.In this post name what your definition of a good player is.
2.Name 1 quality of a bad player (poor skills or unsportsmanly)

1. Plays well and fair with good sportsmanship and respect. When unskilled, is willing to learn and work up skill.
2. Cheats, talks foul and/or is a sore loser. When unskilled, accuses everyone else of cheating or cheats rather than being humble enough to learn from other players and taking the time and patience to learn and improve.

That is one of my pet hates, though you do need to practice with the powerful flags before they are 'powerful'.

I generally play CTF servers, so a good player is someone who is mindfull of what the rest of the game is doing with regards to flags and bases. When the team you are in actually communicates and works as a team the game is so much more fun.

1. precise jumping, aiming and dodging. IMO the best map to improve all these skills is HiX.
2. players that constantly use "lag","jitter" or "luck" as an excuse for losing

On the flipside, if I send someone a 'ns' for a good kill and they send back a 'luck' they kudos for admitting it.

You've gotta point there. :)
I was talking about, say a league match. One team just barely wins and instead of showing good sportsmanship the losing team says something like "You lagged so much it was impossible" or "All your lucky shots..lame".
Comments like that are just uncalled for IMO.

Yeah that can happen :)

We're all going to repeat the same thing on this thread I think.

-Referring to CTF Play Maps-
1. A player that is always aware of what is going around them and makes tactical moves to help the team rather than the individual.

2. A player that only cares about their own personal score.

refering to some league ctf games__
1. good sportsman, nice attidute, learns, and is fun to be with
2. sore loser, makes up excuses, and always blames that they lost because the other team "camped"

1. someone who doesn't take a game of jumping and flying tanks with mighty powerful abilities, and things evolving around it, dead seriously.
2. can't decide which is worse, so i'll count them all: luckers, campers, flag shoppers, individualists (on ctf)...meh

How does being lucky make you a bad player?

luckers are a bad influence on the game imo, always getting more points than they deserve, or their skills would justify.

Thing is, luck isn't everlasting, unless they're cheating ;).
Sometimes even you have a good day and get some lucky shots. Doesn't mean your a bad player ;)

On the OTHER flipside, I hate players who "suddenly" start lagging as soon as I'm about to hit them.

I've also had a few players sign off before I'm about to hit them.

1. Someone that can get out of a sticky situation using good dodging skills and precise shooting.
2. A camper, rejoiner etc...

A bad player could also be some that had a really bad attitude towards other players.

You must've misunderstood my statement. Players use other people's (non)existant lag as an excuse for losing.

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game. Even when nobody's around, how you act then determines how you may act in any situation. In that way, somebody with a -15 score that is a good teammate and sport is much better than somebody who is +47 and complains at everything bad that might happen.

Just have fun.

1) When people are a good sport while either winning or losing, saying things like "good shot" people who dont shoot while they know someone is typing, someone who doesnt hog flags or areas... people who dont spawn rape or cuss alot
2) people who blame there losses on things, whether they are existent or not, complainers and people who say everyone gangs up on them...
