To counteract the perpendicular method, besides using H0ley's method, you can also shoot a few shots to make them go perpendicular, then shoot in front of them. This means that they will have missiles coming at them from both sides.

tips for dodging gm's:
1. Get out of its range
2. Hide behind building
3. Confuse it by jumping or going into portals

Tips for firing:
1. Locking AFTER firing will cause gm to go around buildings to find target
2. Right-click to lock
3. Do not use gm for close range- drop it
4. I recommand being on a building when using a gm

I hope these tips are useful for you GMers out there. :)

Doesn't always work either. You know you can "curve" GM around objects?

I never new that! if that means what i think it means, using GM just got a lot more easy for me

I'd like to see if anyone can develop any skills against the gms at the "Planet MoFo: Improved" server. Those GMs are designed to be sure locks. It twists and turns like crazy.

I don't consider that server improved. The power of the GM makes it really unbalanced.

The power of everything makes it equally unbalanced, if that makes any sense.

For some reason I haven't had any trouble knocking off GM campers there... Tiny works wonders.

a trick to doging Gm is when its comming to you, wait about a second, quickly go backwards then speed fowards. that way the gm turned backwords to go with you and doesnt have anough speed to follow oyu foward.

it works most of the time, depending where the person with gm is

simple way, i use...although i just started BZFlag yesterday...

Wait for the GM to come. At the last second, or as close to the last second as you dare, jump high. Works 40% of the time. Usually I jump too late. Be careful of his second shot though.

i DON'T reccomend that dodge. If you jump, its about an 85% or higher chance that thats basically suciede and you're as good as dead. see my tips earlier in the thread for info.

If I'm on higher platform and the GMer is on a lower platform, i usually try to tease him into shooting at me, then at the last second after he fires I back up on the platform. it's pretty fun to do.

I still think the best way to dodge a GM is to drive in circles around the GMer... I like it driving around the GMer's favourite tower on badgerking making him spend all his GMs for me ;-)

High speed, Tiny, and Thief will aid you greatly. GMers are especially afraid of the Thief flag 8)

Another trick that hasn't been mentioned: Shoot the GMer. The shot stops homing once the tank that fired it is dead, and normal shots move faster than GMs. Of course, this only works sometimes because often he will just jump or otherwise dodge, but on servers with fast moving bullets I've killed people who's GM wasn't even halfway to me.

it's not too hard... the problem is when you don't notice a missle it coming at you ;)

Who else can manage that? 8)
I do that alot(I shoot GM, GM texture loads, I lag, I get hit by my own GM :P)

Now try this:
Shoot more than one tank with one shot WITHOUT laser
I did this on badgerkings(i think), I shot someone and myself with the same shot :D :P
I'm thinking I need a better sig than this...

Once, on Silvercat Overlord, two people fell on the same Geno shot. Every player on the map was instantly anhilated.
