What are your preferred controls for tank movement?

What kind of controls do you prefer?

I hope to use the results in a "BZ newbie getting started guide".

Please specify, if you voted "Other".

Please share your experiences on different types (eg. mouse vs keyboard), brands (eg. Saitek vs Logitech) and technologies (eg. optical vs ball mouse).

I myself am a joystick guy. I do better with joystick than with mouse, and I'm hopeless when I use the keyboard.

My joystick is lousy (not precise enough - I can't hit anything), so I hope to improve by simply getting a better one, or a gamepad maybe.

I am on a laptop with a trackpad, so there goes the mouse thing... I'm too cheap to buy a joystick, so I just use the built-in keyboard on my Dell Inspiron 600m. Sure the keyboard's not the most precise thing to play with, but in bzflag, being precise has never really been required... and if you do need it, you can hit the 'a' key.

i use a keyboard, its faster and easier for me. i tried useing my logitech joystick, but there are no mac drivers for it.

I use the keyboard. I don't know why. I just started, and got better at it. Now I think I should have used the mouse more.

i use both, but i prefer the mouse. when i play for fun, i use the keys, and when i try to do well, i use to mouse

I mostly use the mouse, but sometimes I bring out my gamepad.
The only advantage i have on my gamepad is that I can pull machine-gun-like shots without any cheats or button-press-repeater-thingies. the downside is that it isn't very accurate, so I usually use the mouse.

thought control. however some of my thoughts are misinterpreted by my computer, so i occasionally carry my team flag away or kill my teammates. me and my computer are still working on this.

I use the mouse 'cause it's the best I got. It's some mouse from Logitech with a scrollwheel.

I use mouse because i suck with keyboard and dont feel like spending my money on a joystick

i like mouse cuz the keyboard is to hard to use, same with joystick,gamepad,etc.
with mouse i aim better and can dodge quickly

I have a gamepad, though I don't use it on BZFlag because it dosen't work correctly. It works fine for other games I play, though :/

It's a Logitech Dual Action or something like that.

So, I always use the mouse. I have an external mouse for my laptop, though I do use the trackpad every hundred years or so. If my driving looks like I filled up my tank's gas tank with booze, then I'm probably using my trackpad
