Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
I have built a Windows installer for the latest development code. As before, this will not be protocol compatible with any of the 2.0.x servers. However, there are a handful of 2.99.x servers running at this time. Linux and OSX users can build a client with the source from SVN.

Edit: removed incorrect info, thanks Trepan.

BZFlag SVN r21252 does not use the lastScreenshot BZDB variable.

Hi-
Constitution's mac build didn't work for me so I compiled my own version. Hopefully it will work better for people who couldn't get constitution's .app to run.

Note: Intel Only, should work on Leopard and Snow Leopard

Ah yeah I realized that. I think it should just be for Leopard and Snow Leopard - original post edited.
Re: Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
Can we post crashes/bugs with these builds on this thread or where else?
Re: Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
A better place to discuss the issues would probably be on our #bzflag IRC channel (at least, if someone is around at the time), and a proper place to report and track the issues would be our bug tracker on SourceForge.
Re: Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
what about ideas/suggestions?
For instance I think it would be nice if the server and port fields were copy and paste-able.

There is an ideas tracker there as well, I think. But generally you'll get better/faster results if you write up the feature you want and submit it as a patch.
However, pasting is already supported for that in the 2.99.x build posted here, at least on Windows. You may have to define the paste key (either do just that one, or reset the defaults) in Options > Input Settings > Change Key Mapping. It defaults to Shift+Insert.

This has probably been said before (hm if I'm not mistaken this has been on 2.x versions too: in low detail, other tanks' treads aren't visible -- they look a bit ghostly.

In low detail mode, neither textures nor treads are shown. It is a feature.

Re: Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
is this version again not compatible with lastest?
Re: Alpha release - BZFlag 2.99.60 SVN r21252
Depends on your definition of "latest". Are you talking about the latest SVN trunk, or the latest 2.0.x? It's definitely not compatible with 2.0.x, and it's probably not compatible with the latest SVN trunk (though I haven't tried).
