BZFlag 2.4 Release Candidate 2

There were a few more bugs we had to squash so we felt we should have one more Release Candidate before we stamp it as final.

This version should fix the rabbit chase issues found in the last RC.

The client for this version will also try to upgrade your config from older 2.0.x versions ( if you haven't ever run 2.3 before) and keep as many settings as possible.

If this version tests out OK then we should have a final release very shortly.

Like other packages this version is incompatible with previous versions so you will need to play on upgraded servers.

I'd appreciate if people could test out the configuration upgrade to see if everything works right with it. You can do this by deleting your 2.4 configuration folder and then running the 2.4 RC2 client. It should properly migrate BZFlag 2.0.x settings including the email to motto conversion (assuming you didn't have an @ in your "email" string).

Configuration upgrade worked for me fine.

I've just noticed that fog was set to fast instead of nice (in 2.0 config it was turned off). However I can't feel the difference between fast and nice.

And why was that geometry setting removed? Was it replaced by something? Today I've caught that mouse bug for the first time since I added the geometry line to the config.

The -window setting always needs the resolution specified, so there was no need to store the geometry setting (as it breaks the game when you then run the game full screen). What operating system are you having that bug with the mouse?

As for fog, that's probably just fine (fog can't be turned off anymore). But I'll discuss/test that today.

ubuntu, Constitution has the same problem with it. Well, that's an old bug, but for me in 2.0.16 the issue is magically solved by the geometry line in the config.

Which version of Ubuntu? And what video driver? (not sure it matters, but I want as much information as possible so I can try to duplicate it)

ubuntu 11.04 x64, nvidia 270.41.06 from the repositories (videocard GTS 450), But the bug doesn't happen every time, though rather often (~20 % ?).

Since it is also a problem in 2.0.16, we may opt to fix that issue in 2.4.2, assuming we can duplicate it.
