Hmmm...I cant seem to get a server to come up in the list in 1.11.23.
Is there some options I need to change?
Or is the list down.

From the error message, I would guess the SDL library:

I think there is some issues with special characters in callsigns. Try using only letters, and I think also exclude spaces. If the list loads, that was the problem. I'm not sure if they are going to resolve this or not.

Well, I think it's sorta cool. You could make a field of land mines that you have to dodge in order to get to a team's base, for example. ;)

blast, here's a picture for ya:
http://members.rogers.com/trepan/landmine.jpg

the basic rule is:
don't touch anything that's red on the radar.

p.s. maybe that should be yellow or blinking,
given that there are red bases and all...

nice trepan, but mabye you could make invisible landmines but mabye a pattern or a path that didn't have any that you had to find. that would be really challenging but it might be fun.

unseen/unavoidable death is the reason i added
the coloring to the radar. i've already seen bad
map designs involving unpredictable world weapons,
so i'm trying to avoid it.

assuming that i've decrypted your "sentence"
properly, how would you propose that players find
these hidden landmines? by dying? sounds like a
hoot.

well mabye visible 0 units high blocks that indicate a safe pass. I see what you mean that would be bad if you had no way of knowing.

How odd that I'd find this in my server logs:

Player [1] sent version string:
1.11.23.20041113-DEVEL-darwin7.6.0-SDL

scorch it does, it just don't work on 10.2 with the 10.3 build that I made.

BUILD THE DAMNED THING YOURSELF. you have the tools, the info, and the code. just do it. If I can figure it out you can.

so is this version released or just a test version???

Posted: Tue Nov 30, 2004 5:30 am

it's a "test" version. it will not be a
"release" version until it's 1.12.0 or
2.0.0 (whichever the powers-that-be
decide upon)

Can you tell me how you fixed the problem? As far as I can tell I'm having the same problem.
