Hmm, some 2.1 compiles across all OSes might be interesting. Curious to know what the devs are up to.

I tried it out, there are only a few differences so far, like the shots when fired look different, and when they ricochet it looks really cool. That's basically it, so far.

Actually, it goes way way beyond that. There is a multitude of changes under the hood. There's even a new gamemode!

Yeah, it's called "Open FFA" and they renamed FFA to "Team FFA". In Open FFA, you pick a color just because you can. There are no teams. Like slayer mode in other games pretty much.

Not to mention there's a new low gravity flag. :)

"When it's done."

Yeah, that's what the developers say... but if I have any worthwhile estimation skills I would say about 6-8 months. Of course, that's not "when it's done" - just when I think it'll get done. :)

Is that a bad flag or a good flag? It seems like staying in the air longer would give people more time to gather under me and wait for me to land, rather than help me get away or give me an advantage.

Hmm..thats a very good question. I guess it would depend largely on server settings for the flag and what the gravity is normally. Staying in the air longer also allows for a higher flight, and a farther one, increasing/decreasing your chances of landing on a building.

Or, it could annoy the heck outta everyone(namely the guy who isn't used to the new gravity  )
Still, it sounds like fun!

Screenies? Please? I can't find the 2.1.x files...

Heh. If I can remember that far, I believe that was in the first versions of the game :P.

The low gravity flag will more than likely only help those ducati-pillbox style players as they can jump over shots they cant dodge making them very hard to kill now. Is it acting as a bad flag?? If so, if theres a way, it should be able to change between bad and super seeing how on different servers it can act in various ways. I wonder if we could create a ducati map with just that flag on there :o .

Anyone could...I even made directions for Win32 that are floating around somewhere - for mingw, that is. Not to mention the directions already in CVS

we will do windows builds when we get closer to a time when the code has settled down and need to do some serious testing.
