If you're into this, you can maybe try and revive this: http://mybzflag.net/

To revive MDG, he would have to have access to the site.

Re: BZFlag Map Review Blog
MDG was good while we were motivated to write for it. It got kinda to the point where we'd written about everything we were interested in - and that nobody was releasing fun enough maps to review. Most maps being released just got a response of "meh, it's okay... nothing special", so nobody wrote the review.
Besides, we found it's kind of hard to write reviews of new releases - because you never see them get played. 90% of released maps never get hosted, let alone played on. And in my opinion, you can't get a good feel for a map by just roaming about it. You need to see it, and play it, with a few other players.

And the answer to dexter's suggestion is? (in a yes or no format)

Re: BZFlag Map Review Blog
One of the problems with a BZFlag related blog targeted at a single topic (like map making) is that you're going to run out of things to post. Compared to some games, we're not highly active (in terms of both development and people playing), so there is less to talk about. I'm having the same problem with my blog, which was mostly targeted at development.
Re: BZFlag Map Review Blog
What we need is to combine a bunch of the many BZ sites and blogs and take out all of the features that are hard to maintain. (I can think of a bunch of things that we could cull out of MDG).
Then we give a bunch of people that are the most active with BZ and are decently trusted the perms to admin the site. When someone feels that they are no longer going to be as active as they were before, they find a replacement, so on and so forth for eternity.
Anyone agree? (If so, say aye)

Can't wait to see the review for the Turret Defense map.
Re: BZFlag Map Review Blog
a site which I believe deservers a revival too is the ::: "Mapatorium"!
at the time it was THE map-maker site where you could present your maps with screenies and description to a bunch of competent guys and got votes for it with great input!
a revival of this site would be certainly appreciated by all mapmakers and players that are curious to get a serious idea of mapmaking! I have never seen something getting close to this!
