Chances are you aren't clicking on BZEdit...it works for 10's of other people.

The reason not many of the links on that "getting help" link don't work is becuase that site is still under construction.

That site under the getting help link is of my doing, it may take a while to finish.

Looks cool.

Someone has to say this. Using images for text is considered harmful for many reasons. The site can't be indexed or searched. Copy/paste won't work. editing is hard etc.

Cosmol.. The site is made in photoshop. To change the text all i do is open the psd, change it and click -save for web.

Then open up dreamweaver and set the bgcolor and align="center"

What about these reasons, also people with disabilities are SOL, their readers won't work on the site, text size can't be changed for those that can't see well, there are many reasons why having just images for a website is bad, bad, bad. If you have dreamweaver, why make the site in Photoshop?

Oh, and by the way your site is down or I can't connect to it.

I have to agree with Comsol.

Well, images have the advantage that they (usually) have the same look in any browser (except of text based browsers) and you can give them a really cool design. Unfortunately, there are much more disadvantages like:
- Search engines can't index them. Don't you want ppl find your website? (see Cosmol)
- You can't copy text passages. (see Cosmol)
- Tools for visual handicapped ppl can't handle the content. > no structure, mostly not the same text written down in the ALT attribute,...
- It's not possible to change the content in an easy way. (Consider that your named tools are quite expensive. But even with free tools it wouldn't be possible to change the content from any location if they are not installed...you have a simple text editor on every computer.)
- Images are not scaleable like text.
- Images are much higher in size than text. (traffic)

However, the sites you have done so far have an amazing look. Try to combine images and text. You can use similar fonts (there is a CSS statement to deposit a special font file browsers can use), but of course not all of the used effects. Even if the websites lose some nice looking details, ppl will be still impressed.

Greetings...

Last time I checked, Google doesn't index frames. Not sure about iframes. ;)

But, a <div> isn't that bad...

*rant* /me wishes everyone converted to CSS and stopped using tables (without XHTML at that!) for what they weren't meant for: designs *rant*

What does having an iframe have to do with being able to edit it?
iFrames suck. ;)

A <div> would be just as easy, but it would guarantee search engines finding it... (they won't find it unless you directly link to it, but then your main page doesn't get as good page rank) and you wouldn't have that annoying scroll bar...

Wtf does an iframe have to do with how easy it is to edit it..?
If you took out the <iframe> it would not be a single iota harder to edit.

@CannonBallGuy

In this case the iFrame has the same functionality like an ordinary frame. The use of is is self-evident: You don't need knowledge of how to use Server Side Includes (SSI) or scripting (like Ruby, Java, Perl, PHP,...) if you don't want to place recurrent HTML code in every HTML file (menu, logo, footer,...).

There also exist web development tools that do that for ppl who prefer simple HTML files.

Well...frames or iFrames are proscribed for nearly every kind of use in the eyes of serious website designers, but if you don't have the chance to use the methods described above, I don't think that frames are really condemnable. ;o)
