Except for Open-Source software. :D

As per the topic on hand, it's a great idea. Then again, I'm at lost more than 50% of my worth already, but hey...BZFlag must be in a depression. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that every one of my stocks has gone down in value...

Hi all,

Our first reset/winner(s) was tonight. And that was after I realized 7 minutes before midnight that the clock was wrong on the server (4 hours behind) :D . Anyway, the winners list is up and you'll have to log-in again. I think there is work on just nuking the $500 players and just reseting everybody else. :)

More responses to the rest of the reports that we haven't deleted yet.
BinarySpike wrote:I think players should be able to have "live" stock updates sent to whatever server their playing on, like every 10 minutes.
(not *every* player, just ones who request it)

That way when they play they can watch their stock as it updates, and don't have to constantly go windowed (and on some servers get lag kicked because of it)
Yes, we actually had the idea to do this back in the Beta days... I supposed we'll make it soon. But we're a bit lazy, and it'll make our server checking script more complex than it already is...
Unless enough people whine about it. :D
Saber wrote:There should be a place where we could set things to be done when we aren't online like:

Sell/Buy X amount of stocks from Y server in Z hours/at A o'clock.
We don't think we'll be implementing this. It'd be too easy to buy at 2 AM and sell at 10 PM (some of the best times to buy and sell, respectively).

Login failed for unknown reasons.

I bet it's because of the ++ at the end of my name.

Slayer++, you're right. It is because of the "++" at the end of your name. They are automatically converted to spaces by the PHP, and on the receiving end, we have no clue which ones would be a + sign and which one would be a space.
We are currently trying to bug the devs... hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

BZStocks is (hopefully temporarily) down. The server we use is having extreme lag and packet loss problems... which even plague http I guess.

Hello,

Really good job guys, well done :D

I noticed that the maximum # of shares a player can buy is 2,147,483,647

with maximum I mean buying using the (all) button..!
If a player has a really huge amount of money (like me!) & tries to buy stocks in large quantities at once, it wont be possible!

Now you guys don't want me going out of business, do you?

Cause now I have to keep clicking (all) again & again & again..!

I suggest that you increase the # of shares we can buy once at least to 2 Trillion shares

Again, thanks for the pleasant work :)

We've gotten reports of the bug before, not exactly sure why it is happening, but if any news breaks lose, we'll tell ya.

Cheers

Tanner, dude, I researched it with you and we know why it happens.
2,147,483,647 is the limit on an int.

Use a float and check to make sure there is no decimal place in it.
