Its very artistic
When I first heard you guys were both doing it I though you guys were having half the map each, doing whatever it was you wanted with it, then bringing them both together. Creating 1 very messed up map
I guess your map is going to be a CTF, I certainly think it is based on how symetrical it is.
For those in need of screenies here they are:
Do I think joint map making is a good/bad thing. I reckon it is because you have 2 opinion rather than 1. If your working together then you both need to know what's going on.
I'd like to see a map that has half the map created by 1, the other half created by another and merging them together. See what happens.
That actually sounds like a good idea to me

Well the way it works is we will sit down on skype for about an hour , and send back and forth bzw files agreeing on what to do

Also there are tunnles underneth the bases , basicly , we agree on what fetures to include , add them sepratly and then agree on who's version is best.

ok I see. I didn't realise there were tunnels i'll post 1 in a sec.
EDIT:
I spotted this, I don't know what but it looks as if part of the wall is raised, but further down it meets with the floor. hmm
Here are a couple screenies of the tunnels.

Neat map. On joint mapmaking, the process isn't important, as it is the outcome that we use. So it is just as good as making a map by oneself.

Teammwork determines the map quality.
Process can be linked to 'time' and how long you spend on each bit. With Teammwork and a good 'Plan', it should work well with a good finished product at the end.
