Playground

Post by CUPCAKE »

Yesterday I decided to make something at random using Wings3D and then make it into a map file. I decided to make a playground (having started with a swingset), and the idea eventually developed into making a full map with meshes, meshboxes and physics drivers for the various objects.
It took me a couple of hours to get all this together, and the map file ended up barely under the attachment limit. However, I really like the map. I'm glad that I now know how to make 3D objects and use textures (although I only used one).

This map is FFA, with all rouges. Its a small map, so there is a small limit of people. The options are already in the .bzw file (including all the flags that I would like- I made sure to not put certain flags like laser in it).

Hope you enjoy it!

Very nice looking, at the least. Can't wait to see how it plays.

Thanks.

The only thing that might need changing is the way of getting up the slide. It involves a physics driver that doesn't always get you up to the mesh. However, what I think I might do is try to add meshes up the ladder on the slide and take out that physics driver.

EDIT: I've now fixed the slide to make it easier to climb up.

This looks like a pretty cool map. The near 1 MB size seems worrying, though. How come the wings 3d exporter goes into so much detail for each vertex and number?

Code: Select all

  ambient 1.00000 1.00000 1.00000
  diffuse 0.846667 0.342263 0.270933 1.00000
  emission 0.00000e+0 0.00000e+0 0.00000e+0
  specular 1.00000 1.00000 1.00000

Code: Select all

  vertex -109.65996684 92.78610298 9.2696189e-2

looking very nice muffin imposter

I would say though that maybe add some more obsticals such as a basic truck toy, or some shovels or something, I dunno- but just seems a little to barren

Very nice modelling there, Cakers. I salute you! *salutes* I would like to see how it plays, however.
