I highly doubt you have been given rights to convert the map from the copyright holder. It is not nice to steal, and stolen things have no place here.

angel soft went out of Bunses and they didn't care

that doesn't change the copyright or the license. We take copyright very seriously here, it is the only thing that protects our project. Tread carefully.

I'm pretty sure Midtown was licensed to Microsoft in one way or another.

Either way, it won't make a good bzflag map, because it's so hilly.

also to clarify, the company is not gone, they are now a division of rockstar games. MS looks to hold the copyright.

We do not support the theft of copyright materials, it's as simple as that.
