Tank Tower Defense

Lately, i have been kinda bored of the maps out there, so i thought about something different.

I like the various Flash Defense games on the net, so i simply came up with the idea to adapt it to bzflag.

After a short talk with Jefenry, and a half an hour of work for him, the current (beta) map is up at:
(I m gonna add Screenshots of it, as soon as i m at home, i m currently at work)

It's been up some time, and there have been various ideas how to improve it.

Currently we are working on a plugin, that changes the server variables, based upon the players that are in the game. (Tankspeed and reloadtime, in relation to the fun it makes).

As the feedback/ideas etc. is much faster to access, and visible to everyone, i decided to create this post here.

So yeah, hope for some ideas on how to improve it :)

It might be good to make the tanks able to jump just a tiny bit higher so the blue ones can get on the wall. Then you could add a bit to the meshes to make them unable to get past the walls. The red ones wouldn't be able to get there, but they could shoot the blue ones if they jumped. Then the blues lower down could shoot the reds before they land.

I like this map a lot. It shows how you can use a minimal amount of mapping and create a fun map.
I've been trying to find a way to make little short jumps, like this map has, actually work. I was using a low glass ceiling, ricochet, and _shotsKeepVerticalVecloity.

I played on this map when lots of people were on (20). Back then I saw a blue get over the wall. Was he/she cheating or was the map made so it was very hard to do but it could be done?

BZFlag tries to put new spawns in a "safe" area. When the spawn zone is already full of tanks, the server does not know where to put new spawns, so it just drops the sucker in anywhere.
It's a small bug caused by the zone being full.

Ahh, I see. I was there when he/she did it, but I didn't actually see it happen. I heardthat he/she jumped over it, but he/she may have just spawned there. 8)

Yeah, well the current hosted map contains some serious bugs. (Eg you can get into middle were you shouldn't be able to get easy).

currently we are lacking of motiviation to continue working on the map.
