Knox V3 - CTF Style Map

Post by McSpider »

Hi,
This is my first CTF map.
It has two bases Purple & Blue which are placed at opposite corners of the map.
You can play above and below ground. Kinda like in Japanese Castles (By Nene-chan).
For more info see screenshot.

Suggestions are welcome. So is criticism. :D

Please provide a license for your map.

Once you have that, I would be willing to provide hosting if it's not already up somewhere.

You and anybody else has my full permission to host this map.
I updated my first post to include the license.
Thanks

I have this map up and running at bzexcess.com port 5300.

I did notice a bit of an issue where you get sealed in a box, as show in this screenshot below. Haven't noticed anything other than that. Very cool looking map. :D

You still get sealed in the wall area.

Is the server hosting the new map version?

By the way has anybody else noticed that you hang/get stuck in the teleporters ?
You can get through if you jump, but thats not right.

Maybe its just me.
Any Ideas how I can fix it ?

I have not yet updated the map. I will do so when I get home.

As for the teleporter issue, I think the the usual fix is to lower the teleporter slightly under the surface.

Thanks for the feedback.
The teleporters should be fixed.

I moved them down.
They worked for a while then stopped. :?

Could you describe or post a screenshot of the location in question.
Is it the area bambino described ? If yes then its fixed.

Have you tried it at the bzexcess.com server? I'm running the latest version there. zaphod might be running an older version on his.

set maxBumpHeight to 1?!
try it on 001.bzflag.fr:5142
it seems to work .....?!
disadvantage ::: you don't have to take the risk in jumping to get in sniper-position behind the wall!
but not the "real" solution to solve the problem ::: I guess you have to put the ground-box on/in the floor a bit higher to make it a "real" box for the tank? but that alters the vertical wall too and would need a lot of changes in the map-file!
