alright first thing i want to get down is that i am a map maker. and the second thing is i don't know what to make i know its not a good mix but thats why i am writing this, i need ideas... so comment and tell me what kind of map you would want to play on.

Obstacle courses / races are always welcome. Maybe HTF with shooting?
As for other types --- the map should provide action. Not too large so players could meet fast in a battle.
Personally I don't like indoor maps, lots of corridors. I prefer rather open spaces, just like most of the bz maps. Maybe that's why I play bz but Quake gives me nothing but headache (literally).

Smoke and lights wont be hard... they will be nearly impossible.
And trying to convince the devs to program in particle emitters and light maps... more than impossible.
But if you can figure out how... i'll be surprised
(maybe try bribing them with candy....)

You mean like how we already have Lua in 2.99.x that can add special effects like that on a per-map basis?

lights will probably just be diffused cones
