issues with Zoned.bzw

I figure out how to make the game CTF style, but I have a question.

How does one bring the flag to their base?

Thank you

You can pick up the flag and manually return it, or you can add a "flag safety" zone, so flags will return to there when dropped in a bad place, ie. places that kill you, non-flat surfaces.

Please tell me more about both of those options. How do I do that?

Thank you

See this wiki reference: https://wiki.bzflag.org/Zone
Look at the "flag" and "team"" parameters, I think those are the ones.

Thanks for that info, but it was a two part question.

You forgot: How does one manually return it?

Please answer that part to, for this map - after it converted to CTF.

Thank

He did answer that part too:

Flags will fly to the center (or to safe zones, if defined) when dropped over a pyramid, an opponent's base or anywhere the flag cannot land.

Team flags can be manually returned by carrying them back; drive over them, take them to a safe place, then drop them.

Let us try it again, but a little bit different.

Since no teleporter lets me into my area where my base is - without making the map bigger ( for example -worldsize 270 ) so that I can go around the teleporter, disabling the link for the teleporter that protects my base OR changing the map in anyway - and since I can only carry one flag at a time (unless I where to modify my client so that I am cheating) - how does one capture the flag?

Thank you

PS. As need be, run a private LAN only server to run this map as CTF, before answering...

Hmm, an unmodified version of that map seems to be impossible to capture the flag, if that's what you're trying to fix.

You could do this to make the flag capturable(I think this will work, but I'm not positive):
1. Put the green flag safety zone at the red base(Not on top of the base).
2. Put an object that forces the flag to return; for example, a pyramid.
3. Repeat for opposite teams.

Then, from the red team, you can capture by:
1. Grab PZ while behind your base's teleporter.
2. Go to the enemy base and drop the flag on a pyramid near the red base.
3. The flag is now at your base, behind the teleporter.
4. Get killed by the "Globe of Doom".
5. Spawn, and capture the enemy flag :)

Did that clear the problem up any?

#1 How does one grab PZ as the all of the other flags (not the team flags) are not on the ground ?

#2 What/where is "Globe of Doom"?

#3 How does "Globe of Doom"? kill me?

#4
Put the green flag safety zone at the red base(Not on top of the base).
a) Since you do not recommend on top of the base, below it ?

b) OR if not below it, the same exact location ?

#5 Does it matter how big the pyramids (or other non flat surfaces) are ?

#6 Where do you recommend putting the pyramids (or other non flat surfaces) ?

Thanks
