Come look! Come see! Another map, with trees!

I was never quite happy with the old BigMadCity map I did a while back; so I did another one, this time with additional V2 objects. My first one was 600x600, more than double the original 400x400 area; this one is 500x500, so it's about 50% bigger - you won't get quite so lost in it. (I've seen the original running recently, which got me a bit more motivated.)

I have yet to master Blender, so I've relied for the most part on objects from elsewhere: particularly, many of the trees are from Louman (though, for some unknown reason, mine don't affect bullets), the palm trees are by ClayOgre, the Monopoly hotels are by AlliedArmour, and the neat little house and the tank factory I found on the 'net in .obj form, and hand-edited the files to put in the textures. I don't know who did them (they've been sitting on my disk for quite some time), but I didn't; if I figure it out I'll post the credits. And thanks to DTremenak for putting the textures in the right places, and Trepan for helping me debug some problems.

The tower of inverted colored pyramids you can climb, but if you touch the colored parts, the Blancmange (pronounced "Blah-MONJ") will get you. Look for various signs in various places.

There is one area with an ice palace for fans of Narnia.

The old MadCity is still there, almost completely intact, but I've made some modifications (which shouldn't harm, and might improve) play.

If you jump up on the yellowish-green boxes, you'll be bounced around.

There are no hidden or secret areas (I've never liked that in maps, because I just don't have the time to find them), but I haven't mentioned all of the features - you'll see them.

Finally, this map will likely evolve, but I'd like it to do so with the benefit of comments from people (and, if anyone would like to modify it themselves, you have my hearty approval to do so). Feel free to email me directly at bentz@ai.mit.edu.

I'm going to try to attach 'screenies'; sometimes it doesn't work as cleanly as I like, but I'll give it a shot.

Two more screenshots

Here are two more screenies; took me a while to realize that the reason the bboard wasn't making sense was that little message saying there is a limit of 4 attachments!
