Ok, did you download the source code or the actual application? For bzedit, ibzedit you can only make simple objects (box, pyramid, base, teleporter) so if the layout is the same you should have a few icons along the top left of the app. Should look like a box, pyr, tele, etc. For making it more playable you need an options block
http://my.bzflag.org/w/Options_(object)
and the map making area for bzflag.
http://my.bzflag.org/w/Category:Map_Making
Hope it help!
PS, I love your signature :D (may want to specify 'sniper15' because there are a ton of other "snipers' out there, but I am the one and only sniper15 8) lol)

Well... I might be able to help you with some things but you could be more specific. What don't you know how to do?

well i don't really understand how to make n put objects in a map, every-time i add a object (box, pyramid, tele-porter and base) it comes out as a rectangular box with the size but never actually shows the box.

Did you add the position, size, rotation and all that? Because the standard for it is 10 10 10 for a box and 1 1 1 for a pyramid. There should be some sort of map display and layout that will show the size and what it will look like.

The standard map size in ibzedit and bzedit is 400. that's 400 from the middle to each side, so a full 800 in the actual game. for adding players you open the map file in a text editor and add this

Code: Select all

options
 -mp 1,2,3,4,5,6
end
that will give you 1 rouge 2 reds 3 greens 4 blues 5 purples and 6 observers I that order. For making a server

Have fun.

To test your map (if you want that), you simply save and then press command+T. If you are wanting it to be actually available for others to play, you have to find someone with a server who is willing to host your map.

Map size doesn't really matter, you just keep tweaking it until it is the size you want it. (do this in the beginning or it will mess up all of your objects positions)

What do you mean? Like a flag zone? Check the bzflag wiki it's in my signature. I would give you a direct link for zones but I am doing this on a iPod touch and it doesn't have copy paste. So, wiki>map making> zones

I recommend the text editor Smultron for editing on a Mac ;)

What kind of mac? Go here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dgxxytjjz5y/iBZEdit.zip for ibzedit thats not on sourceforge.

i correct self on the last post, what i meant was the testing worked but it was all different. for example i put a high wall in the middle and two bases at each end. but when i tested both weren't there. the spot where the bases where suppose to be were all just plain platforms.is there a height limit depending on the world size?

No, there is no height limit. Here is my advice....

1. Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/file/udndni2njfk/iBZServer.zip
2. And this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/smultron/files/
3. Once you have made a map, save it and open it with smultron (using right-click -> open with)
4. Copy all of the code in the file.
5. Open ibzserver and make a new one.
6. Double click the server you made. Paste into the world window. Save the server file.
7. Click the checkbox (make sure the green light appears and it says "ready")
8. Open your bzflag client and connect to- server: localhost port: 5154.

Hope this works.
For future reference, a great website for mapmaking help, espescially with map editors, is this:
http://www.bzmapping.tk/

P.S. The reason I told you to download smultron is because when you start making more complicated maps that require text editing, smultron is a lot better to use than textedit, so you might as well get it now.
