BZEdit1.6.5-noob here, please help

Post by Mudsquisher »

Ok, I have windows, and downloaded BZEdit1.6.5 and I have made my map, but what do I do after that? Please help me. I have downloaded blast's test program but I do not know the BZFS.exe Binary or the BZflag.exe Binary or the BZW World File, how do I find out the inormation, or what should I put in there? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have the newest version of windows.

the map file's extension is .bzw

If it is not, it won't work.

Well, it will work, but bzfs will complain about it (and my program might not show it). "bzw" is the official extension of map files. BZEdit probably using "map" by default.

Ok i plugged in:
C:\Program Files\BZFlag2.0.10\bzfs.exe for BZFS and
C:\Program Files\BZFlag2.0.10\bzflag.exe for Bzflag and
bzflag map #1.bzw for the BZW(that is the map file) so i clicked on run, and the server was localhos with the port as 5154 but it said error connecting to server. Is that my computer connection, or is it with what i put it?

Yes.

Is the C:\Program Files\bzflag2.0.10\* the correct path to the files?
If you are making a CTF map you need to add Max Players or -mp.
The order of mp is this: rogue, red, green, blue, purple, observer

Say I wanted 4 reds and 4 blue and 10 observers I would do this to my map file

options
-mp 0,4,0,4,0,10
end
You need to hand edit that into your map file, don't ask how because there is a post right here on it. then you can switch it to FFA, CTF, or rabbit chase, once you do that.
