Map Testing Help
Okay, so I'm getting into map making. I think I might be able to make maps people will like to play and host, but I am having a lot of trouble testing my map, I don't want to start a whole server just to test it, can anyone help?
Re: Map Testing Help
To test a map you NEED a server ( the server runs the map).... It can be a private server, but it is a server. You cannot get around it.

Re: Map Testing Help
Hmm. I guess I could use localhost.. the only problem is, the settings from the Start Server menu override my map settings.. or is there a way to set up a localhost map without using the Start Server function??

Re: Map Testing Help
Don't use the "Start Server" menu. Run the map manually by calling bzfs yourself. The 'bzfs' binary is the server. There's dozens of threads on this forum about how to do this. Please search.
