Changing color of World Wepon

Post by Alex135 » Sat May 06, 2006 6:41 pm

I don't know if this has ben documented or not... but I have tested it and
if you add "color" to the world weapon stuff in a bzflag map and then have the
ctf team color number. You can change the color of the world weapon.

like have:

color 1

for red ww.

i only tested this with SW

for you who don't know here is the way the color works

1 = red
2 = green
3 = blue
4 = purple

these might not work exactly documented here... but i think i got it the
right way...

Code: Select all

weapon
   name red_sw
   position 0 0 0
   rotation 0
   initdelay 0
   delay 2 2 2
   type SW
   color 1
end
that should give you a red sw

I posted this for the intention of helping Louman for his latest map H2O
thinking he didn't really know about this and i thought that the sw needed
a different color.

I tried your code, very interesting. Just for the heck of it, I plugged some other values in to see what would happen, got a couple of other colors, plus the default yellow rogue color.

IIRC, 5 is obs, 6 is rabbit, and 7 is hunter.

...and thanks, I've always wanted to know how to do this...

Now for a couple questions that have probably puzzled us all...

Why is there a bolt named "observer_bolt" ?
Can observers shoot?
If not, why is it there?
I'm thinking I need a better sig than this...

Heh , maybe make it so when you are roaming as an observer , you can shoot bullets and jump as well , instead of just driving around.

No need to jump, you can control height and direction of view.
You're right, we need a new topic for this. :wink:

Not many posts for 2 days in here, so i thought ide say nice discovery on the
other colors.

I never did know about this... im gona experiment with trying to add a
specific color to the world wepon.

Ill edit the post here and put my results.

If i can get a specific color, ill just try to get the sw to go rainbow to. :P

This way we can save the devs some question answering in the IRC.. :lol:

Results can be expected soon (probably not today :( )
