If it is going to be great, can we see a screenshot of it's work in progress state?

I don't think he has made physical progress on it. Other than the idea in his head.

There isn't much point Kenobi telling us that it's going to be released in a month or 2 :P If you have almost finished then post it in the "Work In Progress" part of this forum and let people try it out and test for bugs etc and offer any small suggestions they may have.

I hope this map llives up to my expectations especially after:

I must say, try to be a little more creative with your map titles. If I search the forums, I could probably find atleast 5 maps by that name, and more if I were to search the Mapatorium.

Here are some common names:
1). 4 Towers
2). 4 corners
3). CTF War or CTF Battle
4). Intense CTF or Intense FFA

Try to avoid using these, or a variation of these as much as possible.

Here are some of my favorite map names, some that people actually think
about before they post their map.

1). "Cirque de Ronguer"
2). Mystic Valley
3). Hydrolisis
4). Vertigo
5). The Gauntlet

This is a very critical part about the map being popular. I do not know of any reason for someone to play a map called, 4 towers. Now, how about this: "eXtReMe CTF Madness! <-- Play me!!!" ? Yah, I didn't think so either.

Use your imagination, be creative!

P.S. If you do not posses an imagination, they are sold at eBay for $25.00 plus shipping cost, $5.00 anywhere in the U.S.A and 8 Euros elsewheres.

I agree with Legolas. I think that you should have a good name for your server instead of something boring. however, I would play your server even if it had a bad name if it was really, incredibly, awesomely fun. I hope you post it here soon so we can have a go at it!

The sarcasm at this forum just keeps growing... makes players mad at each other. Anyway, I would like to see your map when you get the chance, Master Kenobi. If you can not post a screen shot, please post the map and I'll be glad to help or even just look it over. I'm glad that you're making one at all. Pretty fun isn't it? :)

P.S. Thanks for the advice on the name Legolas_... if Kenobi would like, I'm sure we all could find name suggestions.

I assume you are on windows for some reason, so what you need to do is open up bzedit, get it so it is looking at you map in the way you want, now to take the screenshot, you press

Code: Select all

Ctrl+Print Screen
To open up your screenshot you have just taken, open up paint, now press

Code: Select all

Ctrl=v
You can now obviosly save it as what ever you want where ever you want.

My keyboard looks nothing like that. There's no need to assume exactly what his keyboard layout is.
Furthermore, if he is on OSX, he wants to press Command+Shift+3 (full screen) or Command+Shift+4 (to select the area).

The screenshot is not saved, but copied into the paste buffer. You simply open up something like M$ Paint and paste it in.
I think on Windows, Shift-Print Screen or Ctrl-Print Screen or some other combination will let you take a screenshot of a single window.

Like Catoblepas said, just open up paint, and do ctrl+v then save it where ever.

On windows Alt+PrintScreen takes a picture of just the "Active" window

You can achieve a similar effect on OS X with Command+Shift+4 followed by hitting Space.
