As for the actual map, the texturing looks fantastic, and the object shapes and positioning look good so far. I'll post something that's actually worth reading (I hope) when it progresses a little farther.

Alright, I took about a week off development, and I started up again yesterday.

I (re) did the walls, and I'm planning on making some hidden passageways underneath the map, eventually.

Thats amazing.
Cant wait till you get all of the objects in, then it will look freaking sweet!!!!! I'm positive that this will be a popular map.

This is really great work, the texturing and modeling is superb. For the base may I suggest that the door is not the only way to the base, if you didn't already think of this.

edit: whoops, didn't notice the post on the secret passages.

Yeah, not 100% sure how I'm going to approad this one yet... I was debating having the base out in the open, infront, and then have the back room be for flags, etc..

I FINALLY get the Halo theme... and yes people should be burned at the stake for not even playing it!
And Winny I would like to see the base design in the pic... For the door to the bases (blue things) it should be the opening where the warthog is... ya get me?

Looking cool.. a bit hard to integrate into a viral map though (by viral, i mean one of those maps constantly top paging)

Didn't get too much done today, just the roof(s), finished off the lights, and redid the corner platforms.

Sorry.. didn't get the teles done today.. getting close, though.

I did some concrete barriers, and I (started) work(ed) on the flag identifiers..

The flag identifiers will be small, stylized tanks that float above the flag zones, so it feels a bit more like an FPS, where you "walk over" a gun (or in this case a tank, with the weapon), to pick up your flag. They spin via drawinfo.

Tomorrow, hopefully I can finish up the teles, and I can do the catwalks on the ceilings, which will be used to get onto the tall objects in the corners. (Or for GM sniping, or whatever)

You will also be able to get onto the taller objects via teleporters, and physics drivers.

Just a quick question: Do the tanks correspond to the flag? i.e does a tank with wings *pictured above* float above the wings flags?

How big are these objects relative to a tank. Can you take a screenshot with a tank in it?

The map is about 650x350 units, which works out to 227500 square units..

...by comparison, a 400x400 unit map is 160000, so this map is about 65700 units bigger, or about ~30% bigger then a normal map.

I like the screen-shot of the tank in it... both the "wings" tank (which was a cool idea anyways!) and the pic of the tank in the map.
The catwalks are VERY nice they are so realistic. The lighting is awesome... the textures are awesome... everything is awesome...
There are many more "nice" comments i have... but the forum does not let me type that much ( thats a lot!!)
Well anyways looks better then great it looks... well... there is NO word for how good it looks... it is divine and connot be spoken by mere mortals

Heh bet Winny and LouMan can say it! :D

Wow that looks really good! reminds me alot of halo... maybe some of those blue clearish shields (forget what they're called) somewhere to use up space (and for looks 8) ). Anyway your as good as LouMan as far as I can tell, now lets see about gameplay. :P

I was just playing halo 3 and remember this map... I looked around me and noticed two things that I see in every single level atleast 20 times.... pipes and weapon cabinets.. if this is supposed to be based on two levels in halo 3... I think these could be very important in this map...
Idea: put pipes under catwalk?


and they would look cool too :P
